Author Biography

A native of Sacramento County, California, Lance Armstrong spent many years being fascinated by the rich history of the Golden State, in particular the greater Sacramento area. While attending Bella Vista High School in Fair Oaks, Sacramento County, California, the roots to his book, Echoes of Yesterday, began to take hold as he became an avid researcher and collector of artifacts of various local histories. Among the places that attracted his interest was the small town of Elk Grove, which would eventually evolve into what was in 2006 reported as the fastest growing city in the nation. Not long after being hired by the historic Elk Grove Newspaper in 2003, he furthered his studies of the area, which led to his more than three-year project to write the material for what became the first book ever written entirely on the topic of Elk Grove. A graduate of California State University, Sacramento with degrees in journalism and music, Armstrong has build a solid career working for several newspapers and contributing freelance articles to various publications in the Sacramento area.
