Summary

Zal Innez, an ingenious and cultured thief, is being blackmailed by Alejandro Estabol, his boss and a master of organized crime, to earn his assistance in a large-scale robbery. By way of entertainment, Innez and his gang of failed artist friends rob a small bank in Glasgow using unconventional methods, like brandishing fake guns, attacking guards with itching powder, and drawing pictures to calm their hostages and prevent unnecessary casualties. During the delirious attack, Zal meets detective Angelique de Xavia, and an impossible love blooms.
