El año en que se produce una ola de suicidios en la sede francesa de una compañía de telecomunicaciones, la protagonista de esta historia entra a trabajar para su filial en Madrid. Pronto se ve sometida a mobbing: no le encargan ni una sola tarea. Cada día llega a la oficina y se enfrenta a seis horas (jornada reducida por maternidad) de nada. Todo ese tiempo vacío le sirve para idear, en respuesta, un plan de venganza personal contra la economía global y las políticas laborales. Una íntima rebelión contra la sociedad. Tiene cuarenta años, dos hijos pequeños y un marido argentino en una dudosa gira como estrella de rock, y, a la espera de un despido o una indemnización que no acaban de llegar, durante trescientos sesenta y cinco días se irá dando cuenta de cómo, al ir tachando artículos de su lista de la compra, van cayendo las verdades universales, la fe en las políticas de conciliación y en la eficacia de los champús, y las ideas preconcebidas de una felicidad que quizá puede ser posible.

The year in which a wave of suicides occurs at the French headquarters of a telecommunications company, the protagonist of this story begins to work for its subsidiary in Madrid. She soon finds herself subjected to mobbing: she is not given one single task to work on. Every day she gets to the office and faces six hours (reduced shift due to maternity) of nothingness. In response, she uses all that extra free time to conceive a plan of personal revenge against the global economy and labor policies. It is an intimate rebellion against society. She is forty years old, has two small children and an Argentine husband on a dubious tour as a rock star, and, is waiting to be laid off or receive compensation, and neither has yet to arrive. For three hundred and sixty-five days, as she crosses off items on her shopping list, she will realize how universal truths, her faith in reconciliation policies, the efficacy of shampoos, and preconceived ideas of a happiness, fall away and disappear.
This novel, which was a finalist for the Clarín Prize, is an anti-capitalist cry written with dark humor and passion, and talks about a fall, love, sharp things, and a dead orchid.
