In a Scottish town, among cliffs, stands the mansion of the wealthy Cordelia MacDonald, an authoritarian and cruel woman, who has barely received visitors for years. After her death, Nora, the daughter of a former maid, is forced to attend Cordelia’s funeral where she receives the surprising news: she has become the sole heir to the aristocrat's most precious legacy, Nightstorm House.
However, she soon realizes that it is a poisoned gift, as the old woman's last wish is that she reduces the majestic house to ashes. To understand it all, Nora must put the pieces of Cordelia's story back together, and by doing that, she will find a forbidden love, an unforgivable betrayal, and a terrible secret capable of surviving fire.
