Summary

Fantasy stories have long been dismissed as a minor genre, with many people forgetting that many beloved classic tales—Perseus, Hercules, and Oedipus among them—belong to this genre defined by its worlds in which characters do not distinguish between the real and the fantastical. This anthology presents a broad view of the genre that spans the whole of its development across time and cultures.
