Author Biography

Ahsan U. Ahmed heads the water and environment division of the Bangladesh Unnayan Parishad, a multi-disciplinary research center in Dhaka Vandana Asthana teaches political science at Christ Church College, Kanpur University, India Zahid H. Chowdhury teaches political science at the University of Dhaka, Bangladesh Ajaya Dixit taught hydraulics at the Institute of Engineering in Nepal for twelve years and has been an independent researcher since 1989 Kumudu Gunasekera is a doctoral candidate at the Department of Geography at Boston University Dipak Gyawali has been working with the water sector since 1979, initially as a government engineer and since 1987 as an independent analyst Ramaswamy R. Iyer is a former Secretary for Water Resources, Government of India Shaheen Rafi Khan is a visiting research fellow at the Sustainable Policy Development Institute, a policy think tank based in Islamabad, Pakistan Sarath W. Kotagama was trained as an Ornithologist and Wildlife Ecologist and is now a professor of zoology and environmental studies at the University of Colombo, Sri Lanka Adil Najam teaches international relations and environmental policy at Boston University and is a visiting fellow at the Sustainable Development Policy Institute in Islamabad, Pakistan A. Atiq Rahman is the Executive Director of the Bangladesh Centre for Advanced Studies Khalid Saeed, originally from Pakistan, heads the Social Science and Policy Studies department at the Worcester Polytechnic Institute in USA Ashok C. Shukla teaches political science at Christ Church College, Kanpur University, India
