English summary: The loss of the Saxon electorship in the Schmalkaldic War and the confrontation with the Augsburg Interim in 1548 marked a qualitative change in the religious politics of the Ernestine princes. In face of increasing inner-confessional differences, the born Elector John Frederick I of Saxony set a new course to consolidate his greatly reduced territory in Thuringia and to promote a genuine Lutheran base of consensus for the evangelical imperial estates. The author pursues the confessional politics also under the following generation of princes up to the Formula of Concord 1577. He examines the institutional constitution of the territorial church in connection with the University of Jena, the introduction of normative confessional writings, the media, censorship, educational and personnel policies, the inner-evangelical negotiations of unification, and aspects of theological polemics. German description: Der Verlust der sachsischen Kurwurde im Schmalkaldischen Krieg und die Konfrontation mit dem Augsburger Interim 1548 bildeten den Ausgangspunkt einer qualitativ neuen Religionspolitik der Ernestiner. Der geborene Kurfurst Johann Friedrich I. von Sachsen schlug einen Kurs ein, der sein stark reduziertes Territorium in Thuringen auch gegenuber innerkonfessionellen Differenzen konsolidierte und eine eng an Luther orientierte Konsensbasis fur die evangelischen Reichsstande forderte. Der Autor verfolgt den Prozess der Konfessionsbildung auch unter der nachsten Furstengeneration bis zur Konkordienformel 1577. Untersucht werden der mit der Universitat Jena eng verbundene institutionelle Aufbau der Landeskirche, die territoriale Bekenntnisbildung, die Medien-, Zensur-, Bildungs- und Personalpolitik, die innerevangelischen Einigungsverhandlungen sowie Aspekte der theologischen Polemik.
