Author Biography

José María Millares is a poet, composer, and sketcher. He founded the mythical Planas de poesía, which was closed down by police action and earned him detention, torture, and prison. With such memorable titles such as Liverpool, Manifestación de la paz and Ritmos alucinantes, his broad creative journey of unusual versatility and fruitfulness earned the prestigious Canary Island Literature Prize in 2009. In 2010, he was posthumously awarded the National Prize for Poetry.
