Summary

Solis Betancourt believes that the soul and spirit of great interiors begins with fine works of art. The skillful integration of paintings, sculpture, period furniture, and decorative objects is a hallmark of the firm's rooms, which have been widely published in Architectural Digest, Southern Accents, and other prestigious design magazines. Essential Elegance will focus on fourteen recent projects in Washington, Virginia, New York, the Hamptons, Panama, and Puerto Rico, each incorporating works of art from a different period or style. Each project will be introduced with a vignette that focuses on the artwork that served as the design inspiration for the interiors. These range from Old Master drawings to African and Pre-Columbian sculpture to bold contemporary paintings. Ultimately all Solis Betancourt designs are based on classical traditions reinterpreted to suit a contemporary lifestyle and imbued with comfort and harmony.
