Dr. Johnny Ramirez-Johnson, EdD. is professor of religion at Loma Linda University. He learned ethnography as part of his doctoral program at Harvard University. He published the book, Avance: A vision for a new Manana, Loma Linda University Press, Loma Linda, CA.. He serves as adjunct professor at universities in Peru, Mexico, and Puerto Rico.
