Author Biography

MICHELLE PACE is Senior Research Fellow in the Department of Political Science and International Studies, University of Birmingham, UK. She is the Principal Investigator of a large ESRC First Grant Scheme project on Paradoxes and Contradictions in EU Democracy Promotion Efforts in the Middle East (www.eumena.bham.ac.uk). She has published widely on EU and Mediterranean affairs.
