Author Biography

Vita Sackville-West (1892-1962) is known as much for her creation of the gardens at Sissinghurst Castle with her husband, Harold Nicolson, as for her numerous novels -- which include The Edwardians and All Passion Spent -- her collections of poetry and her gardening articles for the Observer. A central figure in the Bloomsbury group of artists and writers, she was the model for Virginia Woolf's Orlando
