Author Biography

Bill Lea is a photographer who specializes in nature and wildlife images. His work appeared on the cover of Field & Stream three times in a row, a first in the magazine’s more than 100-year history. His photographs have been included in an array of books, calendars, magazines, and advertisements, including Audubon calendars, Defenders magazine, and Outdoor Life. He is the author of several books, including Cades Cove, Great Smoky Mountains Wildlife Portfolio, and Magnificent Seven. He lives in Franklin, North Carolina. Nathaniel P. Reed is an environmental activist who served as a consultant and advisor for the Nixon and Ford administrations and for seven Florida governors. He is the former vice chairman of the National Audubon and National Conservancy boards; the former chairman of the Natural Resources Defense Council; and a founding member of the 1,000 Friends of Florida. He lives in Juniper Island, Florida.
