Summary

The relationship between religion and science has existed from the earliest philosophies constructed by advanced civilizations. While humans are spiritual creatures, human evolution is becoming increasingly dependent on technology. This is a book about the interrelationship between science, technology, and religion based on my personal world view formed by my experiences as a scientist and believer in Christianity. I believe that God created the universe and the laws of physics which governs the physical behavior of the universe. I also believe that God created a grand plan for humanity that governs human behavior. In addition, this book is about the future and the growing co-dependency between technology and humanity. New technologies may soon emerge from the worldwide research laboratories that have the potential to change life as we know it; and I am concerned that people and societal institutions are not prepared for these changes. There are many questions to be considered and all of these questions can be synthesized into two fundamental and profound questions: First, will future technology change the essence of what it means to be human? Secondly, and perhaps more importantly, does it really matter?
