Summary

Known for its clear language, logical organization, and range of exercises, this versatile manual covers all the material needed for a one-semester laboratory course and can be used with any text. Over 90 exercises are organized into 23 chapters that are suitable for a two- or three-hour lab period. This revision retains Tharp/Woodmanrs"s simple, clear artwork, challenging lab report questions, and strong technology integrationincluding PowerLab, Vernier, and PhysioEx. Now spiral-bound for ease of use, the Tenth Edition includes new activities and increases focus on clinical applications and critical thinking questions.

Author Biography

Dr. Gerald Tharp is a retired professor of the University of Nebraska, Lincoln. He signed the contract for this title back in 1973, with Burgess Publishing Co. in Minneapolis, and the title was later passed to Macmillan Inc. of New York, which was succeeded by Prentice-Hall for the 8th edition in 2001. The 8th edition was the last time that Tharp actively participated in the revision process.

David Woodman joined the project in the 8th edition and is now fully responsible for the manuscript revision, though he consults with Dr. Tharp on occasion. David has used this manual in his own lab for over a decade and has a solid grasp of the content, style, and technology in the text, as well as the trends and challenges that face this market.
