Author Biography

Luciano L'Abate, PhD, is Professor Emeritus of Psychology at Georgia State University, where he served as Director of the Family Psychology Training Center and the Family Study Center. Among his many professional affiliations, he is Diplomate and Examiner of the American Board of Professional Psychology; Fellow and Approved Supervisor of the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy; Fellow of Divisions 12 and 13 of the American Psychological Association; Life Member of the American Orthopsychiatric Association; Charter Member of the American Family Therapy Academy; Member of the National Council on Family Relations; Cofounder and Past President of the International Academy of Family Psychology; and Charter Member of the American Association for the Advancement of Preventive Psychology. Author or editor of numerous books, book chapters, articles, and reviews, Dr. L'Abate is internationally known as a teacher, lecturer, and clinician. With Bess L. L'Abate, MSW, he has a part-time private practice in Atlanta, Georgia.
