Summary

Mark Rea is part of a search and destroy patrol whose sole purpose is to take out drug laboratories in the jungles of Columbia. The patrol is ambushed and all but two are killed. While hiding wounded in the undergrowth he hears the voice of their betrayer and he is determined to seek out his revenge. His action not only results in his dismissal from the British army but he is also thrown out of the country he had come to love. He returns to mainland Europe disillusioned and takes up a gypsy lifestyle unaware of the political fallout he had caused and the action taken by both the Americans and his own government. A team of Americans is sent to kill him while a team of British soldiers is dispatched to stop that happening. It is while on the east coast of Spain he meets the strange old man Pedro who offers him a new life. If he accepts the offer it would mean leaving all he knows and taking a one-way step into the unknown.
