Summary

The use of natural ingredients and functional botanical compounds in cosmetic products is on the rise, but there are still many misconceptions in the industry about natural products. Formulating Cosmetics with Natural Ingredients describes the use of natural compounds in cosmetic and personal care products: their source, processing, safety, efficacy, stability, and formulations aspects. The book provides cosmetic and personal care industry professionals and natural product development experts with the history and markets for natural compounds, regulations, and manufacturing issues as well as a discussion of "green" cosmetics.
