Author Biography

A native of Orlando, David developed a passion for writing long before he began a career in nature and animal-based theme parks around the globe. He has won numerous copywriting awards for children's projects and campaigns and is a published author of children's books and short story fiction for adults. David is a member of the Society of Children's Book Writers & Illustrators, a former Board of Directors member for the Florida Writers Association and is the proud father of his two children, Dustin and Rachael.Born and raised a desert rat in Tucson, Arizona, Swannee moved to her namesake state of Florida to obtain a double degree in Graphic Design and Scientific Illustration while working as a dissection manual artist and as a museum artist. After graduation from the University of Florida, she continued her career as a wildlife artist for Florida's Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission. As a freelance artist, Swannee created "Wild Thing" as part of Florida's famous Horse Fever project. Swannee currently resides in Ocala, Florida with her loving husband John and their two personal masterpieces, Amber and Coral.
