Ms. Wallace has lived in Alexandria, Virginia, for many years, in a household which includes her husband, Jim; their "aggressively affectionate" Burmese cat, Cleo; and forty-year-old Peter, their turtle. Ms. Wallace has written several Victorian mysteries, including Peppermints in the Parlor; two Mystery Writers of America Edgar Allan Poe Award winners, The Twin in the Tavern and Sparrows in the Scullery; and Cousins in the Castle, an Edgar Award nominee.
