Author Biography

Michael J. Marquardt, EdD is professor of Human Resource Development and International Affairs as well as Program Director of Overseas Programs at George Washington University. Dr. Marquardt also serves as President of the World Institute for Action Learning and is the author of 20 books, including Leading with Questions and Optimizing the Power of Action Learning.

Lisa Horvath, PhD, is program chair and assistant professor in human and organizational studies at George Washington University and was formerly associated with the Center for Creative Leadership. She has presented and published on such topics as team performance and training, virtual and global work, and organizational change, and she has consulted to numerous organizations on work group effectiveness and training.

Lisa Horvath and Michael Marquardt have culled the best practices and lessons learned from such global leaders as Glaxo-Wellcome, General Motors University, Marriott and Colgate-Palmolive to show how any organization can create and sustain teams that will work well across the boundaries and barriers of diversity and distance.
