Summary

As a catechist you are called to help young adolescents know and understand the Scriptures and Tradition as sources of God's Revelation. God, Revelation, and Faith Catechist's Guide contains ten sessions to help young adolescents understand how God reveals himself to us. The core activities form 60-minute sessions and have optional session extensions that make it easy to plan longer sessions. Seven of the sessions connect directly to The Catholic Connections Handbook for Middle Schoolers (Saint Mary's Press, 2009) and cover basic teachings about God the Father, the Holy Trinity, and God's plan for salvation. Two sessions challenge the young people to explore, from a Catholic perspective, the topics of personal identity and winning and losing. The concluding session focuses on how God has acted to bring about our salvation throughout history. The guide also includes an optional project that will enable the young people to see how God acts through the events they experience and through the people with whom they have relationships.
