Author Biography

St. Petersburg native Yelena Francis is a Professor of Russian Studies who has taught at the Russian-American School and Washington University in St. Louis.

Good collection of stories September 19, 2013
In the annals of literature, Russian short stories occupy a place at
the top of the list. Translated in English by Yelena P. Francis, PhD -
these 15 compelling tales make for excellent reading. The book is a
dual-language book (Russian and English) and was translated by Ms
Francis with a complete appreciation for the Russian language and the
content of each story. A partial list of the authors include Anton Chekhov,
Yevgeny Zamyatin, Mikhail Bulgakov, Vasily Grossman.
