Author Biography

Dr. Anthony E. Clement is an Assistant Professor of Mathematics at Brooklyn College in Brooklyn,

New York. He has over 10 years of experience of success teaching remedial mathematics offered

through the Office of the Dean of Undergraduate Studies at Brooklyn College.  In preparing students

to take the standardized multiple-choice CUNY Assessment Mathematics Test, and then recently,

the COMPASS Mathematics Placement Test, Professor Clement had a passing rate close to 100%. 

 

Over the last five years, the Associate Dean of Undergraduate Studies at Brooklyn College has

recruited Dr. Clement to help train new faculty members who prepare students for the COMPASS

Mathematics Placement Test.  Presently, faculty members are using the materials that he

developed to help them as a guide in preparing and teaching courses for the test.

 

 

Stephen Majewicz received his PhD in mathematics at the CUNY Graduate Center and is currently

an Associate Professor of Mathematics at Kingsborough Community College in Brooklyn, New York.

He began teaching mathematics in 1990 at the age of 19 as a teaching assistant at SUNY Stonybrook,

and has been teaching math ever since. In addition to A Guide to Conquering the COMPASS

Mathematics Placement Test, he is also the author of College Algebra: A Narrative Approach, 2E,

College Trigonometry: A Narrative Approach and Precalculus: A Narrative Approach, 2E.
