English summary: The Catholic Habsburg monarchy is generally not considered a center of the European Enlightenment, and the nobility of the court is rarely considered a bearer of this spiritual movement. Still, the clues from the milieu of the Vienna aristocracy reveal an important and multifaceted phenomenon: Enlightenment is considered neither an ideology of the bourgeoisie nor another over-epochal modernization project, but rather a time-specific system of ideas whose aim it was to create an autonomous system of values on the basis of moral training. The author shows how the nobility in the hereditary Habsburg lands, oriented towards French language and culture, turned away from the rigid Catholic Baroque erudition of Jesuits under the pressure of a crisis in education and found the road to self-enlightenment and moderate sensitivity. The study illustrates the change in the intellectual climate using as example three generations of the families Chotek, Dietrichstein and Windischgratz, as well as the educational tracts and instructions in which the nobles transmitted their moral ideals for the following generation. German description: Die katholische Habsburgermonarchie gilt im Allgemeinen nicht als ein Zentrum der europaischen Aufklarung, und der Hofadel wird selten zu den Tragern dieser geistigen Bewegung gerechnet. Trotzdem enthullt die Spurensuche im Milieu des Wiener Hofadels ein bedeutendes und facettenreiches Phanomen: aAufklarung bezeichnete dabei weder eine aIdeologie der Bourgeoisie, noch ein uberepochales aModernisierungsprojekt, sondern ein zeitspezifisches Ideensystem, dessen Ziel es war, ein von der Religion autonomes Wertesystem auf der Basis der Moral auszubilden. Der Autor zeigt, wie sich der an franzosischer Sprache und Kultur orientierte Hochadel in den habsburgischen Erblandern unter dem Druck einer Bildungskrise von der erstarrten katholischen Barockgelehrsamkeit der Jesuiten abwandte und den Weg zur gemassigten Selbstaufklarung und Empfindsamkeit fand. Den Wandel des intellektuellen Klimas veranschaulicht die Studie am Beispiel dreier Generationen der Familien Chotek, Dietrichstein und Windischgratz und den Erziehungstraktaten und Instruktionen, in denen die Adligen ihre moralischen Ideale der nachkommenden Generation ubermittelten.
