Author Biography

Luc Nijs is the founder, chairman and group CEO of The Talitha Group, a global emerging markets merchant banking group and conglomerate. He further holds the Aizkraukles Banka chair in investment banking, private equity and entrepreneurial finance at the Riga Graduate School of Law in Latvia where his lecturing and research focuses on issues involving globalization and corporate strategies, investment strategies for emerging markets and in particular the impact of country context and institutional voids on returns. He provides extensive advisory, executive coaching and training in these matters for corporations, funds and financial institutions and is active in over 160 counties worldwide. He was previously with Arthur Andersen in a number of global executive and C-suite positions and as a professor affiliated with Instituto de Empresa (Spain) and UAMS (Belgium).
