Summary

Plant poisoning is an important problem in the United States, and exposures to plants account for approximately 10% of the annual calls to our nation's Poison Control Centers. Fortunately, few life-threatening poisonings occur, but this paradoxically heightens the need for accurate information, as contained in this book, to allow the health care provider to separate the wheat from the chaff. The Handbook of Poisonous and Injurious Plants discusses the interaction of humans with potentially poisonous plants that are found in either the home or garden.
