Summary

For Heaven's Sake is a modern-day parable that follows Walleye Watkins along his whimsical romp through the different heavens of the world's great religions. Walleye, a born-again Christian, breaks bread with the Buddha, shares a Guinness with St. Patrick, and crosses paths with Burt, St. Peter's executive administrative assistant as he follows his faith until he finds the truths he is meant to find. Meet Dan Dan Parker, who needs Walleye as much as Walleye needs him, only neither is aware of how much their fate depends on one another. For Heaven's Sake is a story that explores our common bonds as a people and promises to make you laugh, cry and question!

Excerpts

Please enjoy some excerpts from For Heaven’s Sake! God touches every life, sometimes you just have to look a little closer to see His fingerprint. So it was with Daniel Boone Parker. He was touched all right, but His fingerprint was awful hard to find. When a man takes one step toward God, God takes more steps toward that man than there are sands in the worlds of time. -The Work of the Chariot “Dear boy, the bible is a living text. The word of God ever changing.” Darwin grabbed Walleye roughly squeezing his shoulders. “This is it! Who are we to put definitions on God? Who are we to think that one day to God is one day to mankind?” Darwin shook Walleye to and fro. “The only natural thing about natural selection is that naturally it is just one more gift from God.” Paddy ballooned out a hearty guffaw, “Now, boyo, did our fair Redeemer turn the water into tea?” Paddy looked at Walleye while reaching out to grasp his pint. “Absolutely not, in fact, if He had been Irish he would have turned it into Guinness, and not bloody wine!” He lifted his glass and waited on Walleye who grasped the heaving glass savoring the coolness on his hands after his time in the desert. “Cheers.” “Honestly Walleye?” God hesitated just a moment then answered. “Free will is a bitch.” God looked at Walleye and cracked a smile.
