Author Biography

Ed Viesturs is America's leading high-altitude mountaineer. He is the only American, and one of only a handful internationally, to have climbed the twelve highest peaks. He is currently on a quest to climb all fourteen of the world's highest mountains -- those above 8,000 meters -- all without the use of supplemental oxygen, and has given hundreds of lectures around the world chronicling his efforts. He lives in Seattle, Washington Peter Potterfield, editor and publisher of MountainZone.com since 1996, is the author of four books on the subject of mountains and wilderness
