The New Testament contains a story about Jesus of Nazareth. The Christian Church has always understood this narrative as the story of the Son of God, who redeemed the fallen human race by his life, death, and resurrection. Contemporary historical scholarship has, however, called into questionthe reliability of the church's version of the story; can such a story be historically true?
