This is truly a unique collection of over five hundred selected pictures taken in Athens, Texas and in the surrounding Henderson County area, many of them taken over a full century ago, showing the east Texas way of life. "A Pictorial History of Athens and Henderson County" by the Athens Daily Review, "Family Histories of Henderson County" by The Henderson County Historical Commission, the 1970 & 1973 Athens High School Athenian photo album, pictures from my daughter, Rachel McClure Burk's photo album and photographs taken by many facebook friends made this book possible. Newer photographs were added in the back of this book to give the reader a more complete representation of the Texas way of life, not only in the past, but today, as well.
