Author Biography

Michelle Brown is Curator of Illuminated Manuscripts at The British Library. Her previous publications include The Book of Cerne (UTP 1996), and The Historical Source Book for Scribes (with Patricia Lovett, UTP 1999). Patricia Lovett is a professional scribe. She is Chair of the Calligraphy and Lettering Arts Society and also a Fellow.
