Summary

The unique "Holder & Fastie" Alphabet card set is a companion to the Alphabet Learning Center Activities Kit book. It enables young children to hear and feel the letter sounds, and modeled reading and writing strategies using it helps children identify and spell words with ease. The Alphabet provides auditory, visual and tactile-kinesthetic cues that focus children on how and where the sounds are produced and felt -- "holders" like letters "a, " "f, " and "l" are extended when uttered and "fasties" like letters "c, " "g, " and "t" are stop sounds that cannot be held. The cards are sold only in 25-card packs, not individually.A black-and-white Holder & Fastie Alphabet sheet and a Spanish version of the Holder & Fastie Alphabet are printed in the book.
