Orville Gilbert Brim is president of Life Trends, Inc., and former director of the MacArthur Foundation Research Network on Successful Midlife Development. Carol D. Ryff is professor of psychology and director of the Institute on Aging at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Ronald C. Kessler is professor in the Department of Health Care Policy at the Harvard Medical School.
