Summary

A useful tool for psychologists, psychiatrists, social workers, and caregivers to those with mental health disorders, this record identifies the 12 human needs most relevant to the lives of people with autism, intellectual disabilities, and related developmental issues. With detailed and practical suggestions for reducing episodes of challenging behavior and psychiatric symptoms in people with dual diagnosis, this account offers a means of improving these individuals' quality of life. Scholarly reviews on dual diagnosis literature--examining mental illness, prevalence, and assessment--are also included.
