Author Biography

Hugh Bucknall is a Worldwide Partner of Mercer Human Resource consulting and the Asia leader for Mercer's Performance, Measurement and Rewards Practice. In his current role, he sets the strategic direction for the business in Asia and provides technical leadership for major projects across Asia. He has worked extensively in Asia and Australia in the areas of reward strategy, job classification, team building, group facilitation, assessment centers, performance management, organization review, and job design. His wide client base includes multinationals and domestic companies across a number of industry sectors such as health, hi-tech, retail, and the public sector.

Dr Reiji Ohtaki is the Managing Director of Mercer Human Resource Consulting (Asia). He has 20 years of experience in HRM consulting in the Asian marketplace. He specializes in developing and implementing HRM strategies, organizational strategies, and various human resources programs for multinational companies. He has consulted for a wide selection of organizations, including Japanese multinationals (such as Canon, Komatsu, and Kao) and American multinationals (such as IBM, AIG, AFLAC, and GE).
