Author Biography

Dori Chaconas is the author of many books for children, including Virginnie’s Hat and Don’t Slam the Door! She remembers the fairs of her childhood fondly: “So much to see! So much to do! ‘Wake up! Today is the day of the fair!’” Dori Chaconas lives in Wisconsin.

Gillian Tyler has illustrated several books for children, including Froggy Went A-Courtin’. She lives with her family in Penistone, an ancient market town that holds England’s largest one-day country fair every September.
