Summary

I Can Do That by Dr. Susan Lederer is the second in her I Can Series. The two stories in one book and the accompanying interactive bilingual (Spanish and English) were written to help parents and teachers read using the research-proven strategies that help all young children "grow" from talking to early reading. The vocabulary and early reading are taught using a "read-with-me" vs a "read-to-me" approach. Signs are also provided as research has shown that signing with young children increases the rate of learning to communicate for young children. The story is illustrated in colorful pictures to keep the child's attention while the text is simple and set in bubbles to teach early print awareness. In the accompanying CD-ROM the story is read by a professional while the words are highlighted. The CD-ROM also provides many suggestions for parents and teachers as well as blackline drawings for activities.
