Summary

In this book, retreat master and author Fr. Jude Winkler reflects on the mysterious reasons for our suffering. Is it the consequence of sin? Does God use it to discipline us? Do we choose it by our free will? Does it just happen? What does Jesus' teaching and life reveal about the nature of our suffering? To answer these and other intriguing questions, the author leads us on a journey through Scripture to discover the sources of our suffering. He concludes with a summary of Christian practical advice that will help us trust God when bad things happen, join our suffering to Christ's suffering, show compassion to others, and grow in perseverance.
