Author Biography

Deba Foxley Leach trained in art history and architecture and had her own art gallery in Washington, D.C. She joined the curatorial staff at The Phillips Collection, Washington, D.C., for the organization of Jacob Lawrence: The Migration Series, an exhibition funded by the National Endowment for the Humanities in 1992. Ms. Leach has designed and conducted art education outreach programs and memoir-writing workshops. She divides her time between Maryland and Iowa and is currently at work on a biography of WPA artist Doris Lee
