Author Biography

Lauren Tarshis's New York Times bestselling I Survived series tells stories of young people and their resilience and strength in the midst of unimaginable disasters and times of turmoil. Lauren has brought her signature warmth and exhaustive research to topics such as the battle of D-Day, the American Revolution, Hurricane Katrina, the bombing of Pearl Harbor, and other world events. Georgia Ball is an author and comic writer who has been lucky enough to work on most of her favorite childhood characters. She's written stories for Strawberry Shortcake, Frozen, Care Bears, Transformers, Littlest Pet Shop, My Little Pony, and many other popular brands. She's the author of two historical fiction graphic novels for Osprey Publishing, and she adapted Lauren Tarshis's I Survived the Sinking of the Titanic, 1912 and I Survived the Shark Attacks of 1916 into graphic novels for Scholastic. When she isn't writing words, she writes code as a front-end developer for mobile advertising. Georgia is also the author of two webcomics, Follipops and Scooter and Ferret on Webtoon. Berat Pekmezci is an Istanbul-born, London-based illustrator working on a wide range of personal and commercial projects. He is the illustrator of several comics and graphic novels including DC Comics’ The Indestructibles. He is also the illustrator of Top 20 Daredevils: Countdown to Danger. When not illustrating, Berat spends his time reading comic books and collecting football jerseys.
Alvin Epps is an artist and illustrator from New Orleans, Louisiana. He is known for being a multimedia artist with an otherworldly aesthetic, blurring the lines between fine arts and digital arts media. Cassie Anderson is a freelance artist based in Portland, OR. She is the creator behind the webcomic-turned-graphic novel Extraordinary: The Story of An Ordinary Princess, as well as the artist and letterer on the Lifeformed series, a sci-fi YA comic about growing up and doing hard things set in an alien invasion. Both books are published by Dark Horse Comics. She also enjoys making journal and autobiographical comics about her life. When she's not drawing comics, she can be found baking tasty treats or exploring the great outdoors.
Leo Trinidad is an illustrator and storyboard artist from Costa Rica. He has fifteen years of experience working on children's books, graphic novels, and animated series for studios like Sony, DreamWorks, Disney, and Cartoon Network.
