Author Biography

Christopher W. Davis is a writer and editor whose work has appeared in The New York Times, Reader's Digest, Discovery Channel Magazine and Popular Mechanics. He was coauthor of U.S. News & World Report’s award-winning series “The Human Body” and named Aerospace Journalist of the Year in 2005 by the Royal Aeronautical Society. The former founding editor-in-chief of wisecity.com, he has also written for Highlights for Children and Reader's Digest Young Families. He lives outside of New York City with his family.

Rachel Byard Garcia has a M.A.T. from Cornell University, an M.F.S. from Yale School of Forestry and Environmental Studies, and a B.S. in Natural Resources from Cornell. As a volunteer at Cornell Center for Materials Research, she worked with children on various science-enrichment activities ,such as building crystal radios, electrochemical reactions, and making cross-linked polymers. She lives in Gambier, Ohio.

Andrew Pinder initially studied archaeology, and worked as an archaeologist and prehistorian, directing excavations and producing illustrations for museums, books and specialist publications. When he moved to Mallorca he began to work as an illustrator, painter and muralist.? He has had numerous one man exhibitions on Mallorca and has work in various public and private collections. As an illustrator he has worked on more than twenty books, mainly for children, in Catalan, Spanish and English.
