Author Biography

About The Author
We think we know a lot more than we did about Frank Alexander. For example, we do know that with this self published edition, he has re-published his book, "I'm In Love With a Mannequin" in 2024. It was originally self-published in 1976 under his moniker of Cocono while he was in his early 30's and was mostly intended for friends and family. A time when he was looking for Love, and a philosophy of life, in all the wrong places. This was after he had gotten, according to much diligent research, his Amateur Radio License (K6UUU) in 1957, graduated from High School in 1961, graduated from Utah State University with a Bachelor of Science and a Bachelor of Arts in 1965, joined the Peace Corps in 1965 till 1967, graduated from graduate school at Stanford University in 1968 with a Master of Arts in Teaching thereby securing a California Standard Teaching Credential with a specialization in Secondary Teaching after which he promptly got a job with the Clinton Job Corps Center in Clinton, Iowa in 1968 where he was a Curriculum Writer/Counselor. Then he got a job with the Tongue Point Job Corp Center in Astoria, Oregon where he taught basic math and English through programmed instruction. Then got a job with a small Publishing Company, Professional Development Systems, as a writer/editor in 1973, in Berkeley, CA. From there he jumped out and started his own publishing company with Jack Capon, publishing Jack's Perceptual-Motor Development books for pre-school to the 3rd Grade. And it was at that time he became a member of the Alameda Poets which resulted in self-publishing his own book of poems in 1976 of which this book is the belated 2nd Edition of his original book. His first poem, of which this book gets it's title, "I'm in Love with a Mannequin" was cited with photos of him with his favorite Mannequin in an article in the Oakland Tribune and other mentionables in the Alameda Times Star newspaper of Alameda where he lived at the time.
But other than that and a few other incidentals, that's all we know. In fact, about the only other information available on Frank Alexander is his book of poems. And so we invite you to know him and see him as you view the world through his poetry. You'll find many of your own thoughts and experiences captured in his kind of folksy rhythmic, semi iconoclastic manner and may even pick up a few "Life" insights of your own.
Yes, you'll explore life anew through his own perspective. You may even discover who he really is and know yourself a little better. In the meantime, if you happen to be in a certain department store and see an old man with one foot on this side of life and the other foot in the next, spending an unusual amount of time around a particular mannequin, don't be concerned.....
