With a storied past and a strong imperial presence, Augsburg enjoyed a golden age in the late fifteenth and early sixteenth century - fostering artists such as Hans Burgkmair, Erhard Ratdolt, Daniel Hopfer, Jörg Breu and Hans Weiditz.
