Author Biography

Ramesh Bhatia was president of the Resources and Environment Group, a former visiting professor at Harvard University, and a former senior advisor to the Technical Advisory Committee of the Global Water Partnership. Rita Cestti is a senior rural-development specialist in the World Bank's sustainable-development department of the Latin America and Caribbean division. Monica Scatasta is a coordinator of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development's Water Project and a senior economist in the European Investment Bank's water and environmental protection division. She has formerly worked with the Brazilian Environment Ministry and National Water Agency to create the Paraiba do Sul River Basin's water-management system. R. P. S. Malik is an economist and senior faculty member of the University of Delhi's Agricultural Economics Research Centre.
