Excerpts

EVERYONE IS SITTING AROUND THE BREAK AREA RELAXED, LAUGHING, TALKING HAVING FUN EXCECPT FOR LOUIE WHO WAS STANDING IN THE FRONT OF THE ROOM WITH A WHITE BOARD. EVERYONE IS EATING DONUTS THERE IS PLENTY OF DONUTS FOR EVERYONE. BIG O, BRUCEY AND GOOGLY LOOKED LIKE THEY COULD HANDLE A DOZEN EACH. BLAZE: Good morning JAKE the donuts taste very good. Would you like one? JAKE: [With hands on hips] No thank you I like to keep myself in great shape. JUST THEN SQUARE HEAD SWINGS THE BREAK ROOM DOORS OPENED AND WALKS IN CARYING A HUGE BOX.HE PUTS THE BOX ON SUAVE RICO AND ROPEY'S TABLE, AND OPENS IT UP. INSIDE WAS A WHOLE BOX OF FRESH BAKED SOFT PRETZELS AND MUSTARD. SQUARE HEAD: Come on everyone there are plenty of pretzels to go around. BRUCEY: [With his cup of tea and pile of donuts in front of him jumps up to his feet and springs to the box of pretzels] Oh my! A case of fresh baked pretzels! SQUARE HEAD: Ok Brucey, there's plenty to go around. Help hand them out. BRUCEY THEN PRECEDES TO HAND OUT THE PRETZELS AND KEEPS PLENTY FOR HIM SELF. LOUIE IS ALSO EATING PRETZELS SMILING GETTING READY TO START THE PRE JOB BREIF FOR THE WORK THAT NEEDS TO BE DONE ON THE GIANT EMERGENCY DIESEL ELECTRIC GENERATOR. THERE WAS A REAL EATING FRENZY GOING ON.EVEN JAKE HAD A PRETZEL HE WAS EATING. LOUIE: Hello everyone. Welcome, welcome I'm glad to see we put together another great team of craftsmen and engineers to help us get this very important job done. BIG JIM: [Raises his hand] Well Lou, rumor has it we going to be working on THE GIANT EMERGENCY DIESEL GENERATOR. LOUIE: Yes BIG JIM but the most important thing is working together safely and make sure the work that we do to THE GIANT EMERGENCY DIESEL GENERATOR gets done right the first time. MOE: Usually if we work safely and together as a team the work gets done right. ROPEY: LOUIE what seems to be the problem with THE GIANT EMERGENCY DIESEL GENERATOR? LOUIE: Great question ROPEY. Hey I hope everyone is listening. EAGLE ED of the operations group told us the diesel engine has a high exhaust temperature and the exhaust smoke looks to white in color. DUDDLEY: Oh boy sounds like we are going to have to pull out the upper crank shaft. COOL DADDY: Yes, possibly even cylinder liners! KRINE DOG: That's what we think too. We are planning to replace all twelve cylinder liners. SQUARE HEAD: Well we have a lot of work ahead of us. I'm glad to see we have such a great crew. LOUIE: This is why it's so important to get together before the job starts. Remember the three most important things work safe, work together as a team and try our best to do everything right the first time. So THE GIANT EMERGENCY DIESEL GENERATOR runs like new when we're done and most important zero injuries. BIG O: Yea not even a hang nail. LOUIE: I guess I need to talk to the riggers first. BLAZE: Hi LOUIE. BIG JIM: LOUIE we have to remove the outside wall of the building to gain access to the machine. LOUIE: Yes that should be done first but we have to also make sure the crane has been inspected. BIG JIM: I'm going to get the crane keys and perform a through inspection you know make sure the crane is ready for the big job that's ahead. BLAZE: I'm going to get the giant fork truck that we are going to need to remove the wall. BIG O: Hey LOUIE, I'm stuffed. [Holding his belly] SUAVE RICO: BIG O and I are going to the rigging room to get all of the rigging we are going to need and do an inspection of all the slings and shackles we'll be using. BIG O: And then SUAVE RICO and I are going out to the job to help BLAZE and BIG JIM remove the wall. LOUIE: Ok but make sure we're all out there together before you get started. SUAVE RICO: [TWO INDEX FINGERS POINTING AT LOUIE] Got it LOU. HIGH VOLT: [WHISPERS TO SISTER T AND BRUCEY] maybe if we hide he won't see us. LOUIE: I might not be able to see you but I can hear you HI VOLT. [Ha] SISTER T: I knew he would see us. Hello LOUIE. LOUIE: Hello SISTER T it's good to see you again. HI VOLT: We are the electricians and we are at your service LOUIE. LOUIE: Thank you very much HI VOLT. Once again the electricians have a lot of important work to do. And most important of all I would like you to stop at the control room and tell EAGLE ED that our team will be working on THE GIANT EMERGENCY DIESEL GENERATOR. SISTER T: I know how to get there this time HI VOLT. BRUCEY: [WITH MUSTARD ON HIS FACE AND PRETZELS STICKING OUT OF HIS POCKETS] Come on let's go. HI VOLT: Anything else LOUIE? LOUIE: Yes we need you to locate the air start compressor and turn the power off to it so THE GIANT EMERGENCY DIESEL GENERATOR won't start up on us while we are working on it. HI VOLT: EAGLE ED will also have the locks for us so we can lock the switches opened. SISTER T: We will lock the switch opened so the compressor can't turn on and push air into THE EMERGENCY DIESEL GENERATOR. LOUIE: Exactly then we don't have to worry about the machine turning on while we are working on it. HI VOLT: We are also going to get our tools together for cleaning all the parts and GROUND the generator and open and lock its switch. BRUCEY: By grounding the generator we'll make sure it has no electricity in it until we start the engine again. NOW THAT'S SAFETY. LOUIE: Thanks and tell EAGLE ED we said hello.
