Author Biography

Nicky Leach has authored or contributed to more than thirty guidebooks, focusing on the natural and cultural history of the West and Hawaii. She also writes regularly for Sunset and New Mexico Magazine.

Richard Mahler has written for more than a dozen Santa Fe-area publications, including the Santa Fean, the Santa Fe Reporter, and New Mexico Magazine. His columns about life in northern New Mexico appear regularly in the Albuquerque Journal North and Crosswinds Weekly. He is also the author of eight books including the award-winning New Mexico's Best.
