Author Biography

Brad A. Alford, Ph.D., a Diplomate in Clinical Psychology (ABPP), is currently Associate Professor of Psychology at the University of Scranton, Pennsylvania. He attended the University of Mississippi for training in clinical psychology and applied behaviorism, and later was a Fellow at the Center for Cognitive Therapy, University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine. Dr. Alford's research and publications have examined empirical, theoretical, and philosophical aspects of behaviorism and cognitive therapy.

Aaron T. Beck, M.D., is University Professor of Psychiatry Emeritus at the University of Pennsylvania and President of the Institute for Cognitive Therapy in Bala Cynwyd, Pennsylvania. He is the author or coauthor of ten books and over 300 other publications. Dr. Beck is the recipient of awards from the American Psychological Association, American Psychiatric Association, American Psychopathological Association, the Society for Psychotherapy Research, and many other professional organizations and academic institutions.
