Author Biography

Art Silverblatt is professor of communications and journalism at Webster University, St. Louis, Missouri Nikolai Zlobin is currently director and senior fellow of the Russia Program at the International Center in Washington, D.C. Dharma N. Adhikari is working on his PhD at the Missouri School of Journalism, specializing in Asian media Natalia Angheli is senior consultant for the Independent Journalism Center Maretha de Waal, DLitt et Phil, is director of the Centre for Gender Studies at the University of Pretoria in South Africa. Shahira S. Fahmy, PhD, has worked for seven years in communications in the Middle East and in Western Europe and currently is a faculty member at Southern Illinois University at Carbondale, specializing in international and visual communication. Berle Francis is a business communication specialist who has worked as a journalist in Jamaica and in Montreal, Canada Aleksander Grigoryev was a journalist in Russia and currently is editor of Washington ProFile International Information Agency in Washington, D.C. Geoff Lealand is senior lecturer in screen and media studies at the University of Waikato in Hamilton, New Zealand. Takashi Yasuda earned a PhD in sociology at Touhoku University in Japan. He is author of The Reading of P. Bourdieu's Sociology: The Restoration to Reality of Social Action and Subjectivity (1998). Juyan Zhang, PhD, is an assistant professor in the communications department of Monmouth University
