Author Biography

Nanette B. Sayles, EdD, RHIA, CCS, CHPS, FAHIMA, has worked as an HIM practitioner for more than 10 years, and was a recipient of AHIMA’s Educator Triumph award. Dr. Sayles is currently the associate professor, teaching health information management at East Central College. She is on the Georgia Health Information Management Association Board of Directors.

 

Kathy C. Trawick, EdD, RHIA, FAHIMA, is the chair and associate professor of the HIM department at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. In addition to her 10 years in academics, Dr. Trawick has profound HIM practitioner experience in acute-care facilities, serves as a consultant to healthcare facilities, holds offices at the state level in HIM and Cancer Registry associations, and currently serves on the CAHIIM Panel of Reviewers for HIT/HIA program accreditation.
